Established in January 2011 DMC Tax is known for making the burden of doing your Tax something painless and easy.

In today’s society, we believe that offering a personal, High Quality Service to our clients is very important. We strive to provide a service with integrity, honesty and clarity in order to provide our clients with an understanding of their financial position, their tax and their rights rather than be fearful of it.

We want people to come into our office and feel free to ask any questions (We don’t believe there’s such a thing as a “silly question”) so they leave the office with a full understanding of what their financial & tax situation is. We believe that the office and team here at DMC Tax reflect this level of comfort, security and integrity.

Raised in the northern suburbs by a single mother with 3 siblings, growing up was challenging. I completed my high school education and began my working career in the legal field at the age of 16, working my way up the corporate ladder learning about the internal running of all areas of a legal practice. During this period of time I had children, and married and after 13 years working in the industry and being faced with a family tragedy, I decided to end my career and took time off to focus on my 2 daughters.

In 1998 I was given an opportunity to work for a small accounting firm and took up studying Accounting and Taxation at TAFE, whilst gaining on-the-job experience. Over 11 years later, I decided it was time to invest in a future of my own and was granted my registration as a tax agent in 2010 and received my Practicing Certificate as a fellow with the NTAA in November 2010.

In 2000 I remarried and we had a son together. Life was finally starting to look bright. Our family was growing and I had a direction in where I wanted to see my future. It was important for me to have a career to show my children that it was ok for women to work and be successful. I am still today very passionate about women working in such a male orientated world and encourage my children and staff to succeed in all that they choose in life.

In 2007 I was diagnosed with severe depression and sought psychological help. This treatment continued through to 2014. Today life is still challenging but rewarding and I seek alternative therapies to assist with my state of mind. I am very spiritually minded and live my life accordingly along with red wine…..

I am passionate about my business, career, staff and clients and do my best to provide a professional yet personal experience.

After 6 years in the beauty industry I decided to jump ship in 2018 and started my career with DMC Tax. I have never looked back. Starting out at the front on reception I had no idea what a notice of assessment was. Fast forward to today and I have gained so much knowledge and experience and I now take care of all our clients obligations and tax needs, from tax returns to bookkeeping . I am the coolest Accountant you will ever meet, when I’m not in the office I am either playing bass, skateboarding or enjoying a wine with my dog Chase.

Fun fact about me is I came first in the city to bay fun run.

I first joined DMC back in 2014 during the busy season, helping with all the fun behind-the-scenes tasks like sorting mail and scanning as a side gig. After seven years in the childcare industry and welcoming a beautiful baby – I decided it was time to hang up the nappies and jump back onboard the DMC train.

I started on reception and learned the ropes step by step. If I didn’t know an answer, I’d find someone who did – and luckily for me, the team here is a pool of knowledge. I love learning something new every day, and the fun, welcoming vibe at DMC suits my personality to a tee.

Now, as Practice Manager at DMC Tax, my job is to ensure everything runs smoothly and that every client has the best possible experience with us.

Outside of work, I’m all about good food, good drinks, and a good old chinwag with anyone and everyone.

I’m Emily, you will see me as you first walk in the office taking care of all your administration needs, I have already learnt so much about DMC Tax and very keen to see you all again for our ‘yearly catch up’.

I have 3 dogs and their names are Poppy, Teddy & Coco, on the weekends I like to have sit back & relax with a beverage in the hand.
